Delete your Kinrally data — keep your account

You don't have to delete your Kinrally account to delete what's in it. You can erase individual items, everything you've stored, or everything your account has synced — and still sign in afterwards.

How to request data deletion

  1. Delete it yourself in the Kinrally app. Most data can be deleted right where it lives: journal entries and voice notes, chores, list items, calendar events, recipes, trips and budget entries all have a delete option on screen. Deleting an item removes it from our sync servers for everyone in the household.
  2. Use Free Up Space for stored photos, videos and documents. In the app, open Family → Storage → Free Up Space. Every photo, video and file Kinrally stores for your household is listed there, largest first, with multi-select delete. Any member can delete what they uploaded; the household's primary member can delete anything.
  3. Or ask us by email. Write to privacy@kinrally.com from the address you sign in with and tell us what to remove — specific items, everything you've shared, or your whole synced history. We act on the request within 30 days and confirm by email when it's done.

What gets deleted

  • The items you choose — files, journal entries, chores, events, recipes and the rest — removed from our servers.
  • Chat messages, which also delete themselves automatically on the window each conversation chooses (3 to 30 days).
  • Shared location: never stored to begin with, and erased the moment someone switches sharing off.

What we keep

  • Shared household records you didn't select. Your household keeps working for everyone else. Deleting data without deleting your account never removes other members' content — use account deletion if you want household-wide erasure.
  • Anything stored only on your phone. Group to-do lists, private calendar events and vault documents live on the device itself, never on our servers. Deleting the app removes them.
  • Records we must keep by law. Receipts and tax records for purchases you made are kept as long as the law requires, whether or not you stay a member.

After anything is deleted, residual copies can remain briefly in routine encrypted infrastructure backups before those backups age out. We never restore deleted data from them and never use them for anything else.

Want everything gone, account included? That's a different request — use kinrally.com/delete-account.
